In Memory of Our Founder: Honoring the Legacy of Henry “Marty” Mayfohrt Jr.
At Madera Toyota Chevrolet, everything we do is built on the foundation laid by our founder and guiding force, Henry “Marty” Mayfohrt Jr.
Born on May 25, 1954, and remembered with love after his passing on March 10, 2023, Marty’s life was one defined by passion—for cars, for people, and for his community.
Raised in the heart of the San Joaquin Valley, Marty started his professional journey in accounting after graduating from CSU Bakersfield. But it wasn’t long before his love for the automotive industry called him in a new direction. After years of serving in dealership leadership roles, Marty turned a lifelong dream into reality by opening Madera Auto Center in 2000.
For over two decades, Marty didn’t just build a dealership—he built a family-owned business known for trust, service, and genuine care for the Madera community. His leadership, vision, and commitment shaped the values we live by today.
Even while courageously battling cancer, Marty’s dedication never wavered. He continued leading with heart, mentoring his team, and preparing the next generation to carry on his vision. Today, his daughter Lauren Millard continues that legacy—guiding the dealership with the same integrity, care, and community spirit that Marty instilled from the very beginning.
Outside the dealership, Marty was known for his love of racing, travel, and above all, family. He is lovingly remembered by his wife of 47 years, Lela, his daughters Michelle and Lauren, sons-in-law Damon and Ray, and his grandchildren Austin, Reagan, and Haley.
To our customers, employees, and community—thank you for being part of Marty’s legacy. Every interaction, every handshake, and every smiling customer continues to honor the vision he built here at Madera Toyota Chevrolet.
We remember. We celebrate. And we carry on—just as Marty would have wanted.
Honoring Leadership at Madera Toyota Chevrolet: A Reflection of Our CEO’s Vision
At Madera Toyota Chevrolet, strong leadership is at the heart of everything we do. Under the direction of our CEO, Lauren Millard, we’ve built a workplace culture that fosters growth, empowers individuals, and drives results both inside the dealership and in the community.
A true example of this leadership in action was Lauren’s recognition as a 2024 Automotive News 40 Under 40 honoree—a national award that highlights young leaders making an impact in the automotive retail industry. This milestone not only celebrates Lauren’s individual achievements but also reflects the vision and dedication she brings to the entire organization.
Each year, Automotive News selects 40 outstanding dealership professionals under the age of 40 from across the country, recognizing those who deliver exceptional business performance, leadership, and community engagement.
Lauren’s leadership has helped guide Madera Toyota Chevrolet through continued growth, enhanced customer experiences, and deeper community involvement. Her recognition on the national stage is just one example of how our dealership continues to thrive under her direction.
We’re proud of the path our leadership is paving and grateful for the continued commitment to excellence that Lauren brings to our team and community.
